But sometimes it’s hard to come up with the perfect name that will match your tumblr blog.

In this article, you’ll find five methods on how to come up with a good tumblr name that’s meaningful to you and would fit your tumblr blog.
1. Title of a Book + Objects
It seems like long tumblr names are quite popular in Tumblr. This method is where you combine a title of a book you love or just find interesting and combine that with a random object you find or the main topic of your blog. Here are some examples:
- Chamber of Puppies
- Midsummer Night’s Cake
- A Tale of Two Kittens
2. Song Titles or Song Lyrics
If you want to have a more poetic approach, you could name your blog using your favorite song, or a lyric of a song that you like or feel strong connections with.
- Pair of Candy Lips (John Mayer)
- Closer to the Sun (The XX)
- Raised in a Summer Haze (Adele)
3. Suffix + Name or Nickname
You could use your name or nickname as a base for your tumblr name. Add an adjective before or after your name.
- TheBestOf + Jay
- FashionBlogOf + Kate
- ThatDancer + Chris
4. Physical Feature
Another method you can use is to use a noticeable physical feature that describes you. This could be something that you always wear or a trait you’re known for. Here are some examples:

5. A Quote or Expression
If your tumblr is focused on a certain topic, then you must feel strongly about that topic. This method is perfect for it. You could combine the phrase “I love”, or “We Hate” and add it to the main topic of your tumblr.
