To download your tumblr posts, you would need to install the Tumblr backup for MAC. It’s developed by tumblr itself, so you know that it would work. However, it’s still in it’s beta phase, so there’s still not that many features.

3. Log in with your tumblr info and click start back up

Google Adsense.  

This method is pretty straight forward. First, you sign up for a google adsense account. Once approved, you can then display ads and links on your tumblr blog. When someone clicks on the ads on your blog, you’ll make some money.

Amazon Affiliate.

Let’s say you post your own photos and write tutorials. You could then recommend tools (cameras, lenses, etc) and products to your followers with your own amazon affiliate link. When your visitors or followers buy something from amazon, you can get commission from that sale.

Promote Fashion Items
If you’ve using tumblr for a while you know that a big part of the community is fashion related. If you have a fashion-related blog with a decent amount of loyal followers, then this might be the best fit for you. Basically, you sign up through PLDR (urban/street fashion) or other clothing companies that offer commissions, and then invite others to sign up. For every sign up, you get $10 and you can do this as many times as you want.

Promote your own product

There are a lot of people already doing this. Obviously there are those already established brands that promote their own products, but you can do it too! A lot of people who make money from this method are usually crafters who make custom things. Products ranges from custom shoes, lighters, artwork, etc. You just have to be creative.

Make themes and sell them.

This goes with the “promote your own product” method. If you are good at hand coding themes, then you could sell these. You can sell them on your own, or join a network like themeforest.net where you can display your themes for more people to see and buy.

How to Post Spotify on Tumblr

1. The first thing you need to do is to sign up for a spotify account and install it to your computer. You don’t have to pay anything to add it to your tumblr. It’s totally free.
2. Next find songs you would like to add to tumblr. Type in the name of the song, artist, or album on the search form at the top-left and hit enter.

3. Right-click on the song you want to add and click copy spotify url

Copy the spotify URL of the song you want to add

4. Now, Go to your tumblr audio post or click here
5. Click Use a URL and paste the url you copied from spotify

Choose "Use a URL" and paste the spotify URL

6. Add a description if you want, then click Create post.

How to Create a Spotify Playlist on Tumblr

If you want to post a playlist instead of just a single song, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Spotify app and click New Playlist on the left site. Add a name to your playlist.

2. Search for songs you want to add and drag them to your playlist.
3. Once you added a couple of songs, right-click your playlist name and choose Copy Spotify URL
4. Now go to your audio post page
5. Click Use URL and then paste the URL you copied from Spotify.
6. Add a description if you want and then hit create post.

Tumblr tip: If you want to add more songs to a playlist that you already posted, you can. Just go to your spotify app and drag more songs to your playlist. This will automatically update the playlist you already uploaded on tumblr.

Spotify Widget not Available in your country?

Unfortunately, one of the downsides of this update is that spotify is only available on selected countries. It’s such a shame because Tumblr is such a global platform. If you are not from Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, USA, you will get the following message:

This tutorial shows you how to generate a hit counter code and add it to your own tumblr page. It measures the number views your tumblr page received. This is different from the number of people looking at your tumblr.

It starts counting the page views from the time you install the code to your tumblr page-not when you created your tumblr account.

How to Add Tumblr Hit Counter

1. Go to this site and fill out the starting number and the description. Copy the generated code.
2. Now go to Tumblr > Dashboard > Customize Theme
3. Paste the code you copied to your description.
4. You can use basic HTML codes to customize the look of your tumblr hit counter.
5. Be creative when you add a tumblr hit counter.
6. To edit the description of the counter, follow the format below:

[Tumblr Hit Counter Code Here] Wizards visited this castle

Tumbtip Warning: When  you change your theme, make sure you keep the tumblr code intact. Otherwise, the counter will reset.

How to Redirect from your old Tumblr URL to your new one

One way to let your current followers and new visitors know that you changed your url, is to create an I’ve Moved Tumblr page. Another way is to create a meta redirect.

A meta redirect is an HTML tag that lets the browser know that the page moved and redirects it to the new location.

Hot to add the meta redirect tag to your Tumblr

1. Go to your Tumblr > Customize Theme > Edit HTML
2. Copy the code below

   <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=NEW PAGE URL"/>

3. Replace http://www.tumbtips.com with your new URL. Change number 5 to however many seconds you want the redirect to wait
4. Find the <head> tag within your Tumblr code. Paste the meta redirect code right after the <head> tag.
5. Save your Settings and Close.

Why would you want to queue your posts?

If you have a lot of followers, but doesn’t really the time to spend on tumblr everyday, you can just schedule your posts so they are published on a set period of time. This way your current followers won’t think you’re inactive and unfollow you.

New visitors of your tumblr will see fresh content on your tumblr and will most likely to follow you.

The queue feature of tumblr is also helpful since tumblr users are from all over the globe. This means they access tumblr during times when you are most likely not on your computer.

This is also useful if you are going on vacation and won’t have time or a way to access a computer for a long time.

Now that you understand the benefits of Queueing your post, lets earn how to set them.

How to Add Posts on Queue on Tumblr the Right Way:

1. First Select the tumblr blog you want to queue posts to
   

   Tumblr Queue Button located at the Sidebar

2. On the sidebar on the right, click “Queue”. This will open the queue page. Alternatively, you can go to this link to open the Queue Page.
   

   This is where your queued posts will show

3. You can set the frequency of the posts from 1-50, change the timezone, and select the times when you want to posts.
4. After setting your preferences, you can now queue posts
   

   Select Add to Queue from the Drop-Down Menu

5. For reblogs and original posts, select Queue posts from the drop down menu at the top-right corner of the page.
   

   Click Queue Post to add your post to the queue list

6. Once you upload your contents, click Queue Posts. This will add this post on your queue list.

Queue Posts Limit on Tumblr

The maximum Queue you can have per account is 300 posts (as of march 31, 2012).300 posts at a time. If you need more, you can save additional posts to the Drafts area.

Tumblr tips

• Depending on the type of followers you have, you might want to tweak the time and frequency of your posts. For example, if you live in the US, most users access Tumblr during lunch break and after school (12pm and after 3pm eastern time). If your followers are from Asia, then you might want to change it to the times when they access Tumblr.
• In general, I queue my post and set it for 8 hours to post 16 times. This way, my followers will see a post from me every 30 minutes. You can set different intervals. It depends on your preferences.
